After spending years in retail, Mikel decided it was time to put his DIY skills to work in a new way — and found his calling in apartment maintenance. Since making the switch, he’s enjoyed every moment of the journey, tackling challenges and putting his hands-on experience to the test each day.

Mikel’s superpower is problem-solving — especially when it comes to maintenance issues. He’s known for his ability to plan, execute, and ensure every job is done right. His dedication and craftsmanship haven’t gone unnoticed; he’s earned both the Rising Star Award and The Hammer Award during his time at Goebel.

Much of Mikel’s foundation in maintenance came from helping his grandpa with projects growing up. That hands-on learning, combined with his “dive in and get it done” attitude, has shaped his career and work ethic.

When he’s off the clock, you’ll likely find Mikel on the golf course, watching tournaments, or enjoying the outdoors with his family — camping, swimming, or relaxing by a bonfire. He also enjoys unwinding with a good movie (and plenty of popcorn)

A fun fact? Mikel used to play guitar in a band! And when it comes to work, his teammates know one thing for sure — he keeps his shop immaculately organized. What drives him most is seeing a finished unit and knowing he helped make it a home for someone.
